The Helena Kennedy Foundation exists to tackle social injustice and social exclusion through education by supporting disadvantaged students from the further and adult education sectors to complete their studies in higher education and move successfully into employment.
Since 1998, the Foundation has been running a bursary scheme to provide much needed financial support to disadvantaged students, who have successfully completed a further education course and wish to progress to higher education.
To date, the Foundation has supported over 600 students nationally to make the transition to higher education. To find out more about the Foundation please visit the Helena Kennedy Foundation main website.
The Mentoring Scheme is part of our ongoing work to improve the support we offer our Award Winners. This year, the Mentoring Scheme has been offered to 6 students, who have all been paired with professionals who are available to offer advice and support as the students decide on and work towards their career. To learn more you can visit the Foundation's main website or contact a member of staff.

The Compass Programme, funded by Kaplan Inc, has supported a total of eight 2009 HKF award winners, offering them a bursary of £1500, training, work shadowing, advice and guidance and valuable mentoring from Kaplan members of staff.
